Welcome to the newly named Roland’s Journal

Roland’s Travels has been renamed!

From today, this publication is now Roland’s Journal. Why?

For a while I have been writing on a second Substack, Roland’s Notebook where I share my journey of making use of analogue tools and in the process reducing my reliance on the digital systems that have proliferated. There are many stories here on Roland’s Travels with historical references that lend themselves into making comparisons between a bygone era and today’s modern world.

I will still be writing about the places I visit and incorporating stories about how we can free up time and enjoy life more by going back to things that have worked for centuries, long before the Internet. My Journal will keep you updated with my progress and that of others who have benefited from a digital detox.

I am looking forward to hearing from you in the comments on stories that I publish here.
