A Tour of Newtown, Bradford on Avon

a 'new"street over 300 years old
The Priory Barn 1470 Image: Roland’s Travels

The market town of Bradford on Avon has a long and rich history. I have produced several articles about it and videos.

Newtown started life in the 17th century, although the oldest building that lies on this street is dated 1470 and is the Priory Barn, a remarkable survivor.

Once there were four pubs, a national brewery, a quarry and several shops. Today, the shops and pubs have closed, and Newtown has become a desirable place to live. The old cottages and houses that line the street command good prices. There are imposing views across Bradford on Avon.

I hope you enjoy the video!
