When I started this Substack newsletter/website, I always intended to build a community, not just readers. The Substack platform enables readers to be engaged by leaving comments, sharing the content and emailing me directly, using rolandstravels@substack.com.
There are ways we will be able to take this further in the future as membership grows. I will keep you informed, so make sure you are a subscriber.
Now let’s talk about the title of this post, the 2 Minute Video Challenge. As part of this community, I invite you to share a favourite place in video format. You can do this either by being at the location and making a video or talking about it to the camera, using photos or video clips mixed in.
The choice of format is yours. The stipulation is that you must own the copyright of any video or photos, so do use your own work. Keep the video to no more than 2 minutes in length. The video can serve as an appetiser to a longer video that you might host on YouTube or another accessible platform.
When you have made your video, please email it or if the size of the file is too large, use Dropbox, iCloud, Google Drive or similar to share it with me using rolandstravels@substack.com.
I am looking forward to sharing these videos, and of course, if you would like a link to YouTube or another website, I will be happy to do so.
I have not set any timescale on this and will run it until further notice. I will display here all that I feel my audience will be interested to see. That could well be all the videos submitted, and if there are a lot, it might create a backlog, but I will endeavour to give everyone a chance. Of course, I reserve the right only to publish fitting videos in case any spammers feel they can send in adverts or worse!
You don’t need expensive cameras or editing software, and there is no need for fancy titles or endings. You only have two minutes, so use that for content and tell/show one of your favourite places.
